On December 14th a meeting of the Global Education platform was held in Estonia. At the meeting the goals on the field of global education in 2023 and beyond were discussed. 

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EstDev, NGOs and educational institutions. It was an important sectoral discussion following the adoption of the World Education Declaration in Dublin last month.

The ’Green EduLarp’ project is making strides in its mission to transform environmental education through immersive role-play experiences. As the project continues to evolve, the next step focuses on the development of its Curriculum, lesson plans and teacher toolkit, and the process is well underway.

We are a dedicated team of educators, environmental experts, and game designers who are collaboratively crafting a comprehensive material that will equip teachers with the resources needed to integrate Larp-based environmental lessons effectively. This toolkit promises to be a versatile resource, providing instructional materials, scenarios, and guidelines for creating engaging classroom experiences.

’Green EduLarp’ is committed to inspiring a generation of environmentally conscious individuals, and the progress on the teacher toolkit represents a pivotal step towards achieving this vision. Lajvverkstaden participated at Knutepunkt 2022. This esteemed event provided a platform to showcase the innovative project that integrates Live Action Role-Playing (Larp) into environmental education.

Knutepunkt 2022, known for its focus on interactive storytelling and role-playing, offered an ideal setting for ’Green EduLarp’ to shine. Lajvverkstaden’s presence not only emphasised the project’s potential but also underscored the power of experiential learning in fostering environmental consciousness.

The GreenEduLArp team recently convened for their 2nd Transnational Project meeting in Västerås, Sweden, from September 6th to 7th, 2022. Hosted by LV, the two-day intensive meeting brought together an international team of educators, experts, and creators.

This in-person meeting infused the team with fresh energy and unity. It was a time of intense collaboration, brainstorming, and strategizing to advance the GreenEduLArp project, which aims to inspire environmental education.

The meeting showcased the power of international cooperation and cultural diversity, enhancing the project’s potential to inspire a new generation of environmentally-conscious individuals. As the team left Västerås, they carried with them a strengthened resolve to shape the future of education through GreenEduLArp.

This August Lajvverkstaden conducts 8 days of EduLarping with 8 schools in Avesta, Sweden, with a strong environmental focus. The participants, who are school children aged 9-12, collaborate in a dynamic and engaging way to craft a fictitious society on an island facing an impending ecological crisis. Through democratic processes and constructive dialogue, they strive to implement positive changes for both the society and its environment, imparting valuable lessons on the importance of sustainability and cooperation.

As we approach the summer break, it’s a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve undertaken with ’Green EduLarp’ and the inspiring path that lies ahead. Just as nature flourishes during this season, so do our ideas, dreams, and aspirations for a greener, more sustainable world.
